I am an antenna

We dropped DirecTv because we only watch local news and a little football. All the stations come in good except CBS – its fine in good weather but we lose the signal in bad weather. Phil was mad because the football playoffs didn’t come. Then i discovered if i held the antenna, the signal was fine… so here i am, typing with one hand and holding the antenna in the other. I make a good antenna. 🙂

“Are you at the computer?”

I hate it when the kids call (from Chicago, Philly, Canada etc) and that’s the first thing they ask. It means they want me to look something up for them, often an address or phone number. Hopefully, they’ll do it less with smartphones, although it usually is easier to look it up on a computer than using a phone’s browser.

When I lived in Tennessee, my son used to call from the grocery in Ohio and ask where to look for something. As if i know how his grocery store is laid out! I suppose I encouraged it by answering correctly “try the isle where the canned veggies are”.

Cell phones might make life easier… for the caller.

Dinnertime!

Dinner time

Daddy was babysitting 3 boys under the age of 4 (his two and his nephew) and had to fix them supper. I think the kids wore him out… and the youngest apparently didn’t like what daddy made for supper.

He sent this picture to my cell phone:

Kids and Guns

Liz made a running kit for her sister for Christmas – a new water bottle, headband and similar tihngs. She wanted to include some mace. So she went into a gun shop across town.

She walked in… three men are there and all turn their head when she walks in – she’s small, about 5 – 2 and 120 pounds wet. She asked if they had mace. One of the guys said “Whew… we were afraid you wanted a shotgun.”

(They didn’t have any mace, but another gun store did – so stay away from my daughters when they are running.)

Future Penn State Fans

Don’t let the clothes they are wearing fool you, once they can dress themselves, they’ll be wearing Penn State blue and white at the PSU – Michigan game.
