Stubborn men

Phil decided he needs to lose weight. Rather than join me on my diet, he decided he’s going to skip lunch. Of course, he comes home at 5 starving, so he eats a big dish of almonds… because I made the mistake of telling him it was on my diet. My diet says about 10 almonds are a serving and he’s eating probably 4 times that. I make supper about 7, on my time – if he’s starving at 5, he needs to eat lunch.

I hate snow

‘Hate” is too strong of a word, since I can usually avoid going out in it since I work from an office in my home and the only time I need to go out is to take the dog out. While Cece is home on Christmas break, I don’t have to go out much at all.

I am sick of “lake effect snow”. We’re on the west side of Cleveland and “it never snows on the west side”. That’s a family joke as we do get snow, just not as much as areas on the east or inland. Our big snows are regional storms that hit everyone. This year is different –  a week of snow flurries all day and weather patterns pushing south across the lake, rather than west to east (and dumping snow from Cleveland to Erie to Buffalo).

It’s just enough snow to make a mess (and totaled close to a foot) but the daily totals weren’t enough to bother with the snowblower. We do try to keep the driveway clear – it reduces ice later.

I’m ready for spring.
